So many wonderful friendships have been built through time spent together volunteering at the store. Arms have embraced friends during hard times, hands have been held in prayer. Our Morning Prayer time before we begin our day is a special time to refresh ourselves and be reminded of our mission – our children and Christ-centered education.

I am although reminded how the tunnel vision that we had in the beginning (to have this establishment serve us) has branched out like a flourishing tree, growing new branches, and dropping seeds, that in return have grown new trees. This store and its family of volunteers have been blessed, and in return are blessing others who enter it’s doors in unimaginable ways.

When the New Life Thrift Store was established more than 4 years ago it was with the blessing and agreement of each school to have their parents be a vital part of it's volunteer staffing. Each of our five South Suburban schools and it's families financially reaps the benefits of the store equally, based on current enrollment at the time of gifting. In just four years time, greater than $250,000 has been gifted. We ask each family to serve a four our shift for each child they have attending one of our schools. One child = 4 hours, 3 children = 12 hours and so on. We encourage every parent to be involved and be a part of an ever expanding mission - be a part of the family at the New Life Thrift Store. You can help by donating!

Clean out your cupboards and closets. Bring us your gently used household items, clothing, sporting goods, shoes, furniture, and whatever else is collecting dust. We can turn it into funds for your school.

Business Owners

The Thrift Store needs you! Is there a way we could partner with you? We would love your overstock items or if you have access to something that the store needs to operate: Cleaning supplies, snacks and beverages for volunteers, merchandise, racks, decorations? Your purchases are discounted by 25% with a minimum of 2 hours of volunteering. (Furniture receives a 10% discount.) We need your help, so call the store and get scheduled and then shop!!!

Here is how you might be able to help out the New Life Thrift Store:

We need volunteers work at the cash register or bag the merchandise. They straighten merchandise on the racks or assist customers at the dressing room. They also put new merchandise out on the sales floor.
We also need workers in the back room to test the electronics and clean them up before they go out on the sales floor. We need other volunteers to go through donations and sort it, clean it and price it. These volunteers are always needed, even after store hours! We have set up night hours for volunteers to work and just work on donations while the store is closed. This is a great activity for families or small groups!
We need volunteers to drive the store truck to pick up and deliver merchandise. No special license required. There is a lift on the truck so it is easy to load. We need teams of two for this task.
We need students to come in and help with odd jobs. These hours can be used for service hours at some middle schools and at South Christian.

We have many different jobs to do everyday. We can work around your busy schedule! Remember that one of the benefits of working at the store is that you see much of the merchandise first! Call today and ask for a manager.
