Students at DCS middle school have the option of enrolling in a Spanish class that meets once a week.
Sixth graders receive one class a week for the entire year unless class enrollment exceeds 25 students. In that case, sixth graders will receive a minimum of 2 quarters per year.
Seventh and Eighth graders receive one class a week for two quarters per year, alternating first and third quarters for 7th graders, and second and fourth quarters for the eighth graders.
Middle School Spanish goals are vocabulary development, some grammar instruction and storytelling/conversational Spanish. A variety of teaching methods are used including computer based instruction, games, activities and Spanish culture study. ¡Olé!
